Ever since I was a kid, I have been memorized by the Olympics.  Every 4 years, my life would stop for a few weeks to watch the best of the best compete for those precious medals. There's so much on the line for these athletes, and just watching their journey inspired me to be better at what I had going on in my life. I'd go as far as saying that I attribute the Olympics inspired me be the best in what we do as a company: Delivering the best fish, in the most responsible way, to our customer.

Plus there's the aspect of how wonderful salmon is for those Olympians and for everyone! And I know that salmon is on the plate of those athletes. Salmon is an excellent food choice for athletes due to its high nutritional value and various health benefits. Here are several reasons why salmon is particularly beneficial for athletes:

1. **Rich in Protein**: Salmon is a great source of high-quality protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth. Consuming adequate protein helps athletes recover from workouts and build lean muscle mass.

2. **Omega-3 Fatty Acids**: Salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA. These healthy fats have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce muscle soreness and joint pain, allowing athletes to train more effectively and recover faster.

3. **Heart Health**: The omega-3 fatty acids in salmon contribute to cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure, lowering cholesterol levels, and decreasing the risk of heart disease. A healthy heart is vital for athletes, as it ensures efficient oxygen and nutrient delivery to muscles during exercise.

4. **Energy and Endurance**: The B vitamins in salmon are involved in energy metabolism, helping athletes convert food into energy more efficiently. This supports endurance and performance during prolonged physical activities.

Including salmon in their diet can help athletes meet their nutritional needs, support recovery, enhance performance, and maintain overall health. And win gold medals.
